The. Fall Collection

He's are some Fall photo's I have taken this year. Most of these were taken in the early morning. The Golden Hour of the early morning makes such a huge difference in the color of a photo. Add to that the Fall colors and you have colors that really pop.

A little something to brighten the gray we have now.

Night of the Super Lunar Eclipse

Here are some photos I to took during the night of the Super Lunar Eclipes a few months ago. There were a few technical issues with the photos, so I have been reluctant to publish any. The night was very overcast so I missed most of the phases of the moon. I also had my camera settings not in the proper settings for night time use. I was over exposing many of the shots. Most pictures were not worth publishing.

I was photography from an old metal trussed bridge (Davis Ferry Bridge) over the Wabash River. I did enjoy the evening photograph session, but I was just very disappointed with the results. A very big missed opportunity.

Here are a few cloud shoots and the moon with two different lens's. Out of the three hour ssssion this is all that was useful.

The Shades State Park - The Waterfalls, Episode III (better than Star Wars Episode III)

As you might have guessed by now I took a lot of photos at Shades State Park. In my mind this park is better than Turkey Run State Park in some ways. Turkey Run has deeper dominating ravines, but Shades have a large multitude of rugged waterfall infested ravines.

Some variations in distance and shutters heed again.

Shades State Park - The Waterfalls, Episode II

Here is an another waterfall shot in different ways. Shades has numerious waterfalls Iike this and the previous post. Waterfall photos are becoming almost as frequent as my fungus photos.

Speaking of fungus, I have several more photos of various fungi coming soon. Fortunately for you all Winter is coming. So there will be a break from fungus for a while after I get caught up.

All The Angles: Wood Fungus

All The Angle will theoretically be a series of blog posts about a single subject or scene but from different angles and lighting. Most times I shoot a subject in many different ways and find I like more than one or more than one is not to horrible. Most times only one or two turnout worth sharing. When I find I like three or more different shoots I will post them under this title. Maybe even talk about the different shots. Most of the time not.

The first All The Angles of course needs to be about one of my favorite subjects. Fungus.

Possible the last fungus of the season

It is getting cold in this area. So these maybe the last fungus photos of the year. There is a chance I might come across more in the next couple of weeks. I guess we will see.

Shades State Park: The Water Falls, Episode I

This sequence of photo's are one scene shot at different distances and different shutter speeds. The progressively closer distances emphasized different parts of the scene. The slower and slower shutterspeeds gave the waterfalls softer and softer textures.

I like how the central log leads the eye along the waterfalls.

Shades State Park - The Critters

Here are some photos of the various critters I have seen at the park.

This centipede moved fast!

This owl swooped in from from a rocky overhang along the trail. It landed about eight feet in front of me and just stood looking at me for a few seconds. As I tried very slowly to raise my camera it tucked its self in the small crevice behind it. A hugh missed photographic opportunity, but. I still enjoyed the experience.

It's kinda cool that it was looking out at me through a spider web too.

This was a slug that was crawling on a wood railing. I was not able to use a tripod so I had to free hand it in low light. Still came out OK.

Another centipede.

Green bug. Katydid I think.
