The Buried Cars

I visited the buried cars again this last Sunday. It was rough hike to get to them. The trail paths to the cars was very muddy in places or just flooded still. I spent a lot of time finding ways around the bad spots. It was a 6 mile hike in 32 degree weather. Which would not have been a long distance if I had not hiked 8 miles the day before on worse hiking trails. Only two OK pictures came out of that hike. The last two in this article.

With all the foliage and weeds gone for the winter I found yet another card buried here. That's a total of 4 cars.

The Wheels on the Train Go Round and Round

I happened on a parked train this morning while on my walk. The sky was overcast so the light was not great, but these photo's came out OK.

I have noticed a train parked in this spot before. I will have to rember to check this area again when the sky is not so overcast. This is the same location as my Rusty Rails post a few weeks past.

Wood you like to see some pictures?

This past Saturday was a sun shinny warmish day. Around 60 degrees. I hiked at Happy Hollow Park for a couple of hours. Here are a few wood themed pictures.

The post not about Icebergs

On my Saturday hike (8 miles) I photographed a large quantity of ice chunks scattered along the trail left over from the freezing of the river. I was going to call this post "Iceburgs along the Wabash". Or something clever like that.

But I encountered two problems. One was that most of the hike was along a tributary of the Wabash river called Burnett's Creek. The other problem was that almost all of the photo's came out CRAPPY! It was an overcast gloomy day, I was very gloomy and the pictures were very boring.

I did manage to take a few pictures that are moderately suitable for publishing. My favorite one is the water drops hitting the water. But that was a heavily cropped photo, so it is blurrier than I would have preferred.

I really wish this winter would end. It has greatly effected my mood this year. Life is kinda sucking right now and this long, cold snowy winter is not helping. It will be 60 degrees today and tommorrow. Then 5-8 inches of snow are being predicted this Wednesday.

Cropping #1

From time to time I will crop some of my photo's. Below is the original photo plus several cropings of the original. What do you think?

Too much stuff in the background. It did not blur out as much as I had hoped.

I cropped out as much of the background as I could. But that left the eye's of the skull in the center of the photo. Not sure if I like that.

Here I cropped out some the back of the skull. That left the closest eye on one of the thirds. I like this version best.
